Lower Rates Ensue

The effects of the VISA card are being felt all the way down the ladder.

Yesterday I got notice from Intergal, Big Bags of Cash and Sexhit that they are now reducing their payouts to $45 dollars per trial. I have yet to figure out if this meant "free trial signup" as it was previously or just "trial signup." The notice that came via email just stated "$45 per trial." I sent an email addressing this issue, but have yet to hear from them to help clarify the situation.

Here is what the email said:

Dear Webmaster, Thank you for your support of our $70 free trial program. We have been running this program for over 12 months now and needless to say it has been very well supported by the webmaster community. With recent changes in the industry particularly to do with processing of credit cards and general industry retention rates our company has undergone a lot of changes. The new proposed VISA regulations for 3rd party processors are set to impact the market very soon and will affect the profitability of the industry in general. These new regulations are set to take place on November 15th 2002. To ensure our ongoing commitment to be the industry leader in payouts to webmasters we need to revisit our payout rates so that we can sustain our business well into the future. The decision that we have had to make is that any sign ups sent after midnight November 3rd 2002 will be paid at the rate of $45 a trial join. We hope to launch some new high paying programs towards the end of November / early December along with new sites and new ways to make MORE money with us than any other sponsor. This is a major disappointment to me and my site as I have often enjoyed these programs and were my most heavily promoted. I even noticed that trying to signup to either of these programs is a no go. The web sites still exist, but you are unable to actively sign up for the programs. It sure seems like they are going to be phasing each of these programs out shortly, only time will tell.
